Porter Automotive Group, founded by John F. Porter Sr. in 1925, was one of the first Chevrolet/Buick dealerships to be established in the United States. Since then, the Porter family has owned several dealerships representing multiple franchises in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida. Porter Automotive Group currently owns and operates Chevrolet, Hyundai, and Nissan dealerships as well as Porter Collision Center, all located in Newark, Delaware.

Cory Porter began working at the dealerships in 1986, and currently operates the day-to-day business. Cory is the fourth generation of Porters to run the business. His father, Rick, ran the business for more than thirty years and was largely responsible for the expansion of the company.
