Description
Here it is... one of the most exciting and collectible 911s ever built. The Carrera 3.0 has always been considered to be one of the best 911s built primarily because of its 3.0 litre fuel-injected motor that shares the crankcase with the Turbo motor. This engine was 50hp up from it's U.S. counterpart and only 1100 were produced in total.
This particular example was brought to the U.S. in 1984. The car was upgraded with several performance enhancing changes such as 28mm front and 21mm rear torsion bars, adjustable rear spring plates, a front tower bar and 7 and 8 inch Fuchs wheels. Stainless steel oil and brake lines were fitted. An MSD ignition and coil were installed with a K&N air filter. A B&B stainless exhaust system and heat exchangers were added. The car has an 11 blade cooling fan and an Optima red top battery. The interior now has Porsche Sport seats, aluminum pedals and a short-shift kit was fitted. The rear is now a 915 limited slip. The odometer shows 138,410 Original Kilometers equal to little over 86,000 miles.
The car has been repainted the original Platinum Metallic within the last few years and the undercarriage is clearly original with no signs at all of rust or abuse.
The interior is in good to very good condition and the carpet which shows no wear was replaced in 1999.
The engine was rebuilt in 1999 and has new bearings, rings, valves, and head studs. An upgraded Carrera 3.2 chain tensioner was installed and the 5 speed transmission was also rebuilt at that time.
The car comes with a complete set of receipts since its time of importation so all work can be thoroughly verified. This Carrera performs flawlessly, has lots of power, handles fantastic and sounds great also. It also comes with boxes of original and spare parts.
