RUF Auto Centre is proud to present a rare piece of Ford Racing History, the RS200 Evolution.
The RS200 Evolution was designed and built by Ford to compete in the exclusive Group B Rallye series in Europe. Although the RS200's were very competitive, the Group B Rallye series was cancelled for safety reasons before this example was able to turn a wheel in competition.
Only 20 examples of the RS200 Evolution were ever built and most have been built and rebuilt to the point that no originality exists. This particular car however is the extreme contrary.
RS200 Evolution Chassis #83 was delivered in it's current and only owner in the mid 1980's directly from Ford. It is in "as delivered new condition" and has been preserved in a private collection. The engine has fewer than 5 hours and for originality sake, a small blemish on the front bumper in existence at delivery, has not been repaired.
Recently, the technicians at RUF Auto Centre have gone through the mechanicals of this RS200 Evolution to insure that everything is 100%. The car has been checked from front to back to make certain that the brakes, clutch, engine, and electronics are in full working order.
