Here is a piece of American automobile history! This 1939 Buick 40 Special 4-Door Touring Sedan (also referred to as a Model 41) is a great starting point towards a great driver or show car. Although the car is drivable for short distances we would not suggest using on public roadways in its current condition. These motors are notorious for bearings and overheating and this one has not had the upgrades done to prevent problems that a distance journey could create. It is not a restored vehicle but rather a very complete example in need of some mechanical and cosmetic attention. It features a three speed manual, the Buick 8 motor, a heater, clock, and turn signals. The interior and exterior, although nice in the photos and from 15 feet, are not so nice up close. Some of the chrome is pitting, the paint is fair, there are loose pieces of trim, and the interior looks to be very original. This car is not a bucket of bolts but rather a great head start. The underside, body panels, and glass are all in good shape. We have tried to identify the most severe issues with this car but please understand that it is 67 years old and not restored. There will be things beyond what we mentioned that may not be working, need looking after, replacing, or rebuilding and yes you will find fluid leaks. We do have 5 pages of notes that summarize the many improvements done by the prior owner. So much in fact that we cannot put it all here but will be glad to fax them to you if wish! Please know what you are getting into! If you are resourceful, mechanically inclined, or well networked then this will make a great project vehicle for you. If not, you might be overwhelmed! This is a great way to get into a running and fairly complete and sold 8-CYLINDER antique car for not a lot of money! Because of the age this vehicle will be sold miles exempt as we cannot document them as being accurate

Some vehicles may not have extra keys, books and manuals, remote entry devices, navigation discs, floor mats or a CD magazine. In order to sell vehicles at these price points and support fast efficient service, the buyer is charged $190 for the cost of overnight mailing of paperwork, title transfers, the ASE inspection, customer pick up at the local train station, and 30-day temporary tags for out of state residents. There are no other fees, taxes, or charges unless you live in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania residents will be charged Pennsylvania sales tax.
